Mark J. Wanda, JD

Mark J. Wanda, JD, brings more than 30 years of experience working as in-house counsel at a wide range of life sciences companies, both emerging and established, with extensive compliance responsibilities in both public and private settings. Mr. Wanda comes to Defender from Dicerna Pharmaceuticals, where he served as Vice President, Commercial & Regulatory Counsel, and was responsible for all aspects of legal and compliance support of the planned commercialization of the company’s first product. His prior roles include head of the Legal/Regulatory function and Executive Director of Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption Compliance at Astellas Pharma US and Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals (formerly Sepracor).

Mr. Wanda holds a JD from the University of Illinois College of Law and a BA in economics from the University of Illinois College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
